    Story of my life...but funnier.
Credits: - written by Scott C. Lillard and Trent Schreiner

    Story Behind the Song
After writing a bunch of love songs, I decided to make something unrelated to love. Taking a little riff that Trent made up, and combining it with the chord progression from one of my earlier songs (which I had scrapped), I made Sunday Waltz. In writing the lyrics, I had a very terrible day, hich would normally depress me, but on that day, for some reason, I was really happy. I decided to base the lyrics on that. Coincidentally, it was a Sunday. This is our second most popular song. Oh, and "in this life I'll gladly quit", contrary to popular belief, means the guy just wants to sit back and relax, NOT commit suicide. Also, the "backyard" line is a reference to one of our other songs, called "The Backyard". This recording is from the "Rind Sessions" of July 2002

    Lyrics
    I'm walking through the park
    with nothing else to do
everything they say 'bout me is true
    I'm smiling
I don't care what they say
    and I'm smiling
    nothing matters today

    I don't remember why
    but I'm about to die
my whole life's been just one big lie
    but I'm dancing
    I love everything
    and I'm dancing
it makes me want to sing, I sing-

    CHORUS
    It's a Sunday Waltz
    and I'm happy to be
    (It's a Sunday Waltz)
glad to be me on a day where it all seems to fit
in this life I'll gladly quit
    It's a perfect Sunday morning
It's a perfect day for a Sunday Waltz

    My family is dead
my cat bit off my toe
I just passed three kidney stones
    in a row
    but I'm happy
    everything is cool
    and I'm happy
    I jump into my pool
    singing-

    CHORUS

(I play my "blow the man down" solo)

    I'm walking through the night
    with nothing else to do
I took you to the backyard-
you hit me with your shoe
    I'm smiling
    everything is nice
    I'm smiling
with a roll of my dice I sing-

    CHORUS
