    (Spoken word Intro)
As I packed my bags for the Persian Gulf,
With my Daughter beside me looking up,
The tears from her eyes rolled down her face
    And I thought to myself
I may never see her again
    And she said
    (Verse 1)
Daddy, Daddy, Are they our friends
    Daddy, Daddy, Oh what’s revenge
Daddy, Daddy, Why is there hate
Daddy, Daddy, Oh what is fate
She broke my heart, I had to cry, when she said
    (verse 2)
    Daddy, Daddy, what’s misery
    Daddy, Daddy, what’s poverty
    Daddy, Daddy, what’s liberty
    (Spoken word)
    (Child)
Daddy, Why do you have to fight to be free
    And I thought to myself,
I may never see her again
    And then she said
Daddy, Daddy, Why is there war
Daddy, Daddy, who is it for
She broke my heart, I had to cry,
    When she said,
    (Bridge)
Dry your eyes, lift your tears,
    Daddy, Don’t you cry
Daddy don’t you cry, Daddy, Daddy
    Daddy, don’t you cry
