Story Behind the Song
Great commandment from the old testament. I was working on a sermon when the song came to me.
Lyrics
Love The Lord
Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart thy soul mind and strength
You got to love the Lord with all you got
Give him your mind, soul, and heart, and not just part
Of you, deserves all of you
Be dedicate and be ready to answer his call for you
But when he calls you it’s a heck of a thing
You’ll in for a ride when God gives you a ring
He says no puts his hand to the plow and turns back
I true to the course even when the sky turns black
You might hurt so bad feels like your soul is burning
weeping may endure for the night, but joy is in the morning
And God is there every step to catch you when you fall
So love the Lord with your all and all
Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart thy soul mind and strength
So love the Lord your God. Love the Lord your God
Love the Lord your God even when its hard
When you life is marred and you faith is scarred
When your scarred to death and you just want to rest
Remember your life is blessed this is only a test
You can go on, then remember this song
God is with you and he will never steer you wrong
Love the Lord when the day is new, when the sky is blue
And every promise in His word is coming true,
Love the Lord your God that’s what you do ,
because The Lord loves gives his all for you
Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart thy soul mind and strength
What do you love more than Lord
Is it your job, money, or things you can’t afford
What ever takes the place of God is an idol
You calling it number one, only God deserves that title
Have no other God’s before me, the commandment He wrote
But it’s also the commandment that you and I broke
When we love our house our spouse our cars and our superstars
More than we the one who created us as who we are
What is your ultimate concern where is your true allegiance
Does it fulfill your life; in the end does it make sense
We are children of God and only he can complete us
Givin my heart, soul, and might to Lord Jesus.
