Story Behind the Song
After listening to my other songs, one of my coworkers asked "So when are you gonna do some country?" I said, "I guess I'll do some tonight" and went home and wrote this little song. Lyrics dedicated to Mel B.
Lyrics
Well you called me up last night and you said that you'd be here.
Now I'm sitting here alone with nothing in the world to fear.
You may have found something good with some other guy,
But dear Lord send me straight to Hell if I ever let you make me cry.
I bet he's 6-foot-five and he's got washboard abs and size...
down there where it counts, and big brown manly eyes
But it's your loss, you can look but you'll find eventually that you may find someone else. They'll never be better for you than me.
I bet he calls you darlin, buys you roses by the ton.
And then you take him home with you, and you have a little fun.
Maybe he's got an an accent and he parley-vous francais
You don't know what he's saying, but you love it anyway.
Better hope he's got real money, he's not a plastic millionare,
Or when those credit cards run out, he plainly won't be there, see it's your loss, you can look but you'll find eventually
You may find someone else, they'll never be better for you than me.
Well I guess I could be more exciting
And I may not be the richest guy around
But I listen when you come home and tell you how beautiful you are
I treat you like a man should treat a woman.
If you come back, I'd like you here with me.
So I guess I'm going out, and shooting pool with my friends
See I ain't worried baby, you'll come back in the end
And while you're out there hunting for some other man,
You're only finding out how good I really am.
And soon you're gonna crawl back, and I guess I'll be here,
And then I'll call you darlin', and you can call me sugar-pie
So you keep with your hunting cause eventually, you may find someone else, but they'll never be better for you than me.
I said you may find someone else, they'll never be better for you than me.
So you just keep on looking. You'll never find somebody better than me.
