Story Behind the Song
Etude no. 1 (Rio 1929) In Etude no. 1 Villa-Lobos writes an Homage to J.S. Bach to whom he considered to be “the God of Music.” He models this piece on a Bach’s Prelude from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1. The left hand explores the fingerboard while the right hand provides an arpeggio.
