i think it's been over a year since i've released any new Trancenden material. this is a track i wrote for my dad, it's heavily influenced by my work with t spigot, skizzo franick, and dave marino. also, my first solo keyboard-focused track. i think you'll dig it, it's very funky. |

Story Behind the Song
my family is originally from israel, so when we moved to the u.s. we all had accents. i've pretty much lost most of mine, but my dad still has his (i kindof miss mine now that i'm older and girls appriciate that sort of thing). one of my dad's most amusing idiosyncrasies is referring to mashed potatos as "smashed potatos" -- since i wrote this song for my dad's birthday, i thought it appropriate to name it after something that always makes me think of him and how great of a guy he is, he's also a big fan of soulful funky music, so i think he'll dig it.
aside from that, gilmore and mel from t spigot have been teaching me how to play keys and so i decided to give it a shot after practicing for a while, i think it's sounds really good, i spent the majority of the time tuning the sounds of the keyboards.
