Story Behind the Song
This song is about being hung over and finding out your woman has gone too. Almost like a country music song, huh. I heard a comedian once talk about alcoholics and how they don't just wake up, they "shake to". Well that's the guy in this song. This is a lonely song. A slight (!) departure from other TANGENT MACHINE songs.
Lyrics
COLD NIGHTS WITHOUT YOU
Waking up, shaking up all night long,
Too much tequila and not enough rum.
I wish I had a dollar for everytime
I saw the same sunrise in the same morning sky.
Cold Nights without you
Cold Nights without you
Took out your picture before I passed out
Your smile was in my hands as I looked down.
Remembering days when we had everything,
But now we've got nothin' at all, you and me.
It's so cold...
Cold nights without you
Cold Nights without you
I wish I could hold you next to me just one more night,
On these cold nights without you.
Someday when we heal our wounds
I'll be comin' back but it won't be soon.
I've got some places that I'd like to see,
Before you come back and I let you bury me.
On these cold nights without you
Cold nights without you
I wish I could hold you next to me
Just one more night
On these cold nights without you
Cold nights without you.
It's so cold.
