	Story Behind the Song I wrote this song for a group of women in Northern New Mexico who have been meeting for many years to celebrate the solstices, equinoxes, and cross-quarter days. We first sang it in a mostly underground room, round in shape, by a large adobe fireplace, at Winter Solstice several years ago. I read later that your mother carries the egg that will become you, when she herself is being carried as an egg in her mother's uterus. Lyrics Deep down in the belly of the night, dream deep winter dreams, and lie safe in your grandmother's arms, still as a seed, still as a seed.
