	Story Behind the Song I wrote this song to teach myself where the moon was in the sky during its different phases. The first two parts came to me one morning while I was working in my casita in Taos, New Mexico. Later that summer, when I was backpacking with two friend into the Truchas Mountains, they sang the first two parts, and the third part came to me. Keyboard Magazine featured this round in Richard Leiter's January 2002 column on composition.@ Lyrics Where is the moon when the moon is new? It's a sliver on the right, growing bigger every night. Where is the moon when the moon is round? Rising as the sun is going down. Where is the moon when the moon is waning? Fading to the left till there's no moon remaining.
