Lyrics
THEY SLEW THE DREAMER
(Gary Revel - Mary Noel)
EARLY IN THE EVENING, THE SUN WAS GOING DOWN
HE STOOD ON THE BALCONY IN A TROUBLED PART OF TOWN
CALLING TO THE SINGER, SAID SING MY FAVORITE SONG
TAKE MY HAND, PRECIOUS LORD, LEAD ME HOME
THEY SLEW THE DREAMER, LET A DREAMER TAKE THE FALL
THEY TURNED THE COURTROOM INTO A COSTUME BALL
THEY SLEW THE DREAMER, LET ANOTHER SING THEIR SONG
THEY SLEW THE DREAMER BUT THE DREAM LIVES ON
THE SHOT RANG OUT IT'S WARNING, THE DREAMER FELL TO DIE
RAOUL SLIPPED INTO HIDING, FOLLOWED BY THE NIGHT
THE REAPER NOW IS READY, IT'S TIME TO AWAKE
SLEEPING DREAMER, TELL US WHO ARE THEY
THEY SLEW THE DREAMER, LET A DREAMER TAKE THE FALL
THEY TURNED THE COURTROOM, INTO A COSTUME BALL
THEY SLEW THE DREAMER, MADE ANOTHER SING THEIR SONG
THEY SLEW THE DREAMER BUT THE DREAM LIVES ON
