    Story Behind the Song

This is the first song that I wrote with the help of the The Songwriter Forums. It's a great group of songwriters. Please visit them at WWW.Waylandpatton.com.

    Lyrics
    van Gogh & ME

Monday morning hisses I can feel the constriction
Coffee is weak I filled the wrong prescription
Turn it down honey I'm still hovering from the weekend
This morning light is the last nail in the coffin
My ship is going down lately it's gone down too often
Feels like the last time all over again
Ah but baby that new dress is sheer perfection
From the angle of my mood you look like a van Gogh reflection
I don't know sweetie if that's good or bad

How about moving to the next life over
With a white picket fence and a beast called rover
I heard the schools are good and the streets line up neat

Yeah money is an issue a constant tragedy
It's flattened the pitch of more than one melody
But at least we can crawl sort of on our own two feet

Ah but honey that new dress is the start of addiction
From the angle of my mood you look like a van Gogh reflection
I don't know sweetie if that's good or bad

Let's set this straight before all turns wrong
The plot of this story twists like a snake in the lawn
Are you still worried about last Saturday's premonition

Let it go like a balloon let it blend into the sky
Lose this memory before it learns how to fly
The past is not my favorite destinations

Ah but honey that new dress is the lock and the key
How about you sit back down and have a drink with van Gogh and me
