Story Behind the Song
A very sad prose work written by my ex-wife which I set to music. I loved the rain imagery in the words, but it is from a very dark time in our lives.
Lyrics
Rain falls upon the bricks, filling depressions. The sky is dark, but the white pillars shine. Fluorescent lights create a sun, reflecting yellow in the glass. But outside the window, water, everywhere. Lost forever in a churning sea, Is this how it feels? Across the edge of sky sits a mountain in the mist. Do they have fluorescence? It must rain there. Trees seem tired, but the grass is green. The roots go deep into the core, but the leaves are brown and wet and dead. Dark and wet, cold and damp, Is this how it feels? Cars going down the hill, splashing water from the bricks. Where do they go? Have they found the Sun? Dim and chill, they can't see the light. Is this how it feels? Lost forever in a dying world. Is this how it feels? This is how it feels.
