Story Behind the Song
Idea is my personal favorite song on PJ. It was a song that went through at least 5 revisions, including vocal retracking new drums, you name it. But the bass line in the first break always made me come back to it and make it better, that bass line saved the song because of its groove. It was the original bass line I threw down for ruff purposes. I couldn't get it to groove more than that so I kept it. It has some very strong lyrical content about the "Industry" and how it affected my life throughout my last 6 years in LA, working and playing within it.
Lyrics
It's my idea, to wait for no one, I'll sell my soul right now for less than nothing.
You laid my life out on a piece of paper, I only wish I knew what I gave up.
In my own life, Am I in life?
You had an idea most say the dream we all have. To spread our ideals, marked kids. The global world we nab.
How does everyone here know what I'm thinking? Everybody here wants to buy me a drink - I want to climb out of the dream I've had. None survives the fate we share. New fake ultra sheen print it on the high gloss New breaks, now scene look at all the high cost...
Let’s all come to our own conclusions lets all dance with our own delusions.
It's all a game, It's all the same
'Lost my mind why said my piece I
Had an idea, some say the best I ever had. I'm gonna escape, everything to be mine to be blind all of the time
