A lull of acoustic guitar and vocals that waft the tale of the consequences of tentative hearts...

    Story Behind the Song
This song captures that state of the-coulda-been-but-never-was. Lyrically this is one of my favorite songs written to date. And I think keeping this an acoustic production is the way to go; to keep that hollowness an incremental voice in the essence of the song.

I suppose these lines were drawn before my time
The way that air meets land through eternity
And I suppose that you and I will waltz the perfect line
You’re always there but never a part of me

And so we watch the moonlight fade
A love song hangs on the thread of a word
Its been holding on for days
Hoping to remember how an eagle flies – to feel amazed
Nothing’s really happened but nothing feels the same

Noone hears the avalanche of war
The way that soul fights flesh through eternity
    In silence grew bitterness
The drama played without an audience

And so I watch a hero fade
A cowboy rides on the edge of the world
He’s been riding on for days
Hoping to remember where the mountains rise – to feel amazed
Nothing’s every happened but everything has changed

What never starts can never end and what’s never seen easily pretends that destiny is ripe for living but just not today
Cause once you’ve lived it up its hard to live it down there’s a chance that you’ll break
Nothing ever happened so everything has changed

I suppose I could have opened up the blinds
To give some breath and light to this heart of mine
    In silence grew some tenderness
But kept in chains in self defense

And now I’ve watched you fade away
The love song died in the cold in the night
There was nothing I could say
Cause noone could remember when or how or why
    We had once felt amazed
Nothing ever happened so everything had changed
Nothing ever happened so no one cared to stay
Nothing happened so nothing’s here today
