	Story Behind the Song Written by Gary when his oldest son Gary Jr was a baby (1974). Autobiographical of the time. Gary produced this record in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and shortly thereafter signed it to the Acuff-Rose company Milene Music Inc. ASCAP in Nashville, Tennessee. Lyrics As Long As We're Together I believe in family ties, the friendship of those around us and the goodness of life. So I wrote this little song just to let you in on how some of us country folks really feel.
