    Story Behind the Song
Once again, while running through some chords on my guitar, these lyrics came from somewhere inside...It took about 2 hours to write, but probably 5 or 6 hours to polish and get onto my harddrive....hope you enjoy.

    Lyrics
    Love Comes and Goes
written by Scott Cannaday key of D

Every night when I came home, and found you sittin' all alone,
I wondered what the hell went wrong with us.
You never smiled or said a word, so many thoughts were left unheard,
So many things that I need to hear right now.

    Love comes and goes.

We used to sit and talk for days about nothing at all, but had so much to say,
A dream in our hearts and forever on our minds.
We had a love we thought would last, but like so many times in the past,
That love could not withstand the test of time.

    (chorus)
    Love comes and goes.
    Nobody knows, why,
    Love comes and goes.

I think about you every day, so many things that I want to say,
But I never know how, when, or where, or why.
We lost touch a long time ago, I only wish that you could've known,
The love inside this man before it died.

    (repeat chorus)

    MMM...mmm...I gotta know, why
    Love comes and goes.
