Story Behind the Song
When I first saw the given clip to the climatic sector for the film Nosferatu, I was deeply moved in the direction of the conflict within Mina. Her self raging war, between her love for her husband and her known duty to unwillingly give herself to Nosferatu in order to finally be threw with all the evil that had taken rest in their town, inspired me. So I wrote the music in her view, the view of a martyr. Nevertheless, I saw the vampire as a perfect opportunity to develop a thematic motif. So, like Jaws, I developed a rhythmic pulse, something that would move the vampire into his fanatic frenzy of freight. The same thing that would grow with the intensity and anxiety of his victim, as his spell and presence crept closer and closer to what would keep him undead, and yet the very thing that only Mina, could ever give him in body and in love; her heart. That is the theme for Nosferatu.
