Story Behind the Song
Every society at large is like an organism. It lives and breathes and makes decisions. It has character traits but it does not always have a capacity for higher order thinking. Many if not most are deadly creatures, titans if you will bent on self destruction of the basic cell: You and I. Our individuality is its cancer. And I see these for what they are: monsters breeding monsters. Why? Too many cells, blinded by pride, rage, revenge or whatever still believe in an eye for an eye. That's so old testament. When does it end? If the meek inherit the Earth, it's because the rest have annihilated themselves. But what will be left, a garden or a smoldering firepit?
Lyrics
The creatures around us act human but focus, their actions seem louder than all of their apologies. They murder, enslave us, spread hatred like disease and when you step on my feelings, its seems so small compared to this; But I'm real. I'm flesh and bone. I bleed red and cry in the dark. My heart aches but I'm not alone. You listen and I am ok; The animals breed children to rise up and kill them. But their deeds are mere echoes of pride and low self esteem. They riot and they damage. They exploit and manipulate. They wreak so much havoc, but they don't, they don't control me; cos I'm human. I'm flesh and bone... I'm real. (I'm no better than you) You're real. (You're no better)...
