Story Behind the Song
Pulling up to the rehearsal studio in his car one day, our drummer was waiting an unusually long time for another car (in a crime ridden neighborhood) to pull out. As the other car pulls past him, he looks at the driver in the other car, who pulls out a gun and mouths the words: "Don't Look At Me"
Lyrics
Sea saw, slip and slide
Would you like to play hide and seek with me?
I maybe a friend, you know me
I live on the next block, not too far away
I think I've seen you're face before
No I ain't seen your baby (3x)
No I ain't seen her
I ain't seen her no
Violets are blue now
Roses are red
You thought you saw something
Poison in the shadows
Poison in the shadows of your head
Singing don't look at me
Don't look at me
Kids these days like to play these games of life of death
So dangerous, so dangerous
And I believe everything I see in the news
So dangerous, so dangerous
No I ain't seen your baby (3x)
No I ain't seen her
I ain't seen her no
Roses are blue now
Violence is fun
You thought you saw something
Looking down the barrel
Looking down the barrel of a gun
Singing Don't Look At Me
Don't Look At Me
Don't Look At Me I got a gun
Don't Look At Me I make it some fun
Don't Look At Me I make you one hundred and one
Show me a gun and I'll show you how fast I can run
I ain't kidding
No, I'm not looking at you, I'm not looking at your gun
I'm just gonna turn around and run
Please let me live!
No I ain't seen your baby (3x)
No I ain't seen her
I ain't seen her no
Roses are cruel now
Violence is kind
You thought you saw something creeping through the windmills
Creeping through the windmills of your mind
saying Don't Look At Me
Don't Look At Me
