Who would have known that this here San Diego resident DJ had such a classical background? Check out this truly melodic piece, and let the warm chords blanket you like the little baby you are. Sweet, just like sugar. Enjoy. |

Story Behind the Song
I really don't know how I ended up with such an emotional piece. It just flowed right out, like a leaky faucet, but faster. I wrote the initial piece in about a day, but it took me a while to get the mastering and final arranging to sound just right. Well worth the effort, in my opinion.
Here's how it started. I read an article in a computer music magazine on how to use the Fruity Peak Controller in Fruity Loops. I decided to give it a shot, it sounded like it'd be the perfect filter to create a simple channel on/off effect over a string pad. The result? It sounded really sweet =) I played with some chords, and with almost random clicks of the mouse, the song's chord pattern evolved from a simple minor chord to some sweetly dissonant chords and back to the root. I then needed a melody. I busted out my old bag of soundfonts, which had been collecting dust since back in 2001, and found a sweet synth pad to use for the main instrument. I played with the amplitude envelopes to make it sounds more like a pluck, and out came the main synth. Quite nice. And, once I had the main body down, I heard this sweet piano playing in my head. I quickly scrawled the notes down, and added some more classical instruments for backing, and resulted was a beautiful ending that really makes the piece. Perhaps a remix will focus more heavily on the classicalish nature of the tune, for those who enjoy sweet melodies without so much kick and snare. Also planned is a harder trance version, for those who would rather forget music and just focus on pure energy. Check back soon for any updated versions. Oh, and enjoy =)
