The second song from our upcoming new album. This one is a bit different... very much darkwave during the verses, but throwing in catchy synthpop chouses to keep you guessing.
CD: [ single ]   Label: MixElektro Records
Credits: Paul Nurminen (music & production) / Susan Orvis (vocals & lyrics)

    Story Behind the Song
Once the music was written, Susan almost immediately had some great vocal ideas for it. We did the choruses first, then worked out some verses, with Susan often composing the lyrics right there in front of the microphone in studio. After we had that down, we both worked together on coming up with some nice backing tracks. A couple days mixing and reworking a few things, and we were done.

    Lyrics
    A clueless twit
    A fool to all
    continually lit
    a moron with gall

    Feigning humility
    encompasing the perfect fool
    vainly stroking his chin
making a nasty puddle of drool

Closed the book, said goodnight to the dark
Reached for the switch, felt a shock, saw the spark
He arrived just in time as before
Dressed all in black as he fell through the door...

    ...unannounced...

    Inside his feeble mind
    Inside his troubled mind
    Inside his wicked mind
    Controlling all the time

    Outstretched I see him fall
Too late to stop his fate
I guess I caused the stall
I guess it's much too late
You think I know it all
You think I lost the race
    He thinks it fell apart
    I know better

He performs to an audience of one
He pretends he's a God unto none
But in truth he's an insipid louse
He performs to an empty full house

    And he will say it
    You wish he'd go
I never thought it meant that much
    And she will say it
    You wish she'd go
I never thought it meant that much

    And he'll recover
    And she will know
    Now everything has blown apart
    And she'll recover
    And he will know
    Now everything has blown apart

    Inside his troubled mind
    Inside his feeble mind
    Inside his wicked mind
    Controlling all the time

    Inside his troubled mind
    Inside his feeble mind
    Inside his wicked mind
    Controlling all the time

    And he will say it
    You wish he'd go
I never thought it meant that much
    And he'll recover
    And she will know
    Now everything has blown apart

I see him in the sky
I draw the world for him
But he just paints me black and gray
He fell out of the sky
I draw the world for him
But he just paints me black and gray

    draw his world
    paint his sky
    draw the girl
    say goodbye
    see him off
    make believe
    see her off
    see him leave

    Outstretched I see him fall
Too late to stop his fate
I guess I caused the stall
I guess it's much too late
You think I know it all
You think I lost the race
    He thinks it fell apart
    I know better
