	With a slowly-unfolding trance-inducing introduction, this work is intended to evoke the moods of a morning on a mountain, and to subjectively reflect the various themes of this sermon of Jesus. Musically speaking, it is an attempt to allow materials to flow and expand, sprouting from a single, germinal motivic/harmonic idea. Often in a rondo-like fashion, the work plays with contrasts of color; intervals and motifs are presented in different guises — timbral, rhythmic, textural, registral. A single jazz-influenced progression serves as the harmonic element of tension and resolution derived from octatonic and Lydian/quartal interval relationships respectively. I wish to take the audience on a journey, so sit back, close your eyes, and imagine!
