Piano intro, and then some strings added. An emotional instrumental that's expressive of how I felt for a while after my father's death that occurred on Friday, July 27, 2001 at 8:43pm.

    Story Behind the Song
I lost my father at 14 years of age; he died on July 27, 2001. I felt suicidal afterwards. I got through depression alive, but am still suffering the pain of having lost a father, a best friend really. And here I am, just about 4 months later, now 15, writing a song dedicated to him.

There are no lyrics in the song itself, but a poem I wrote about my pain fits perfectly. The poem was originally called 'Kryptonite' but the name was changed to the song name 'Hot Teardrops' to suite the title.

The song was written in my bedroom using nothing more than a Kurzweil PC2x controller, and a SB16 (Yes, THAT dinosaur) soundcard. The sequencer used was a simple Cakewalk Express Gold 6.0, and that was only because I couldn't get Logic Audio Platinum to work with Windows XP.

I started writing the song at maybe 7pm Wednesday November 22, 2001, and finished about 4 hours later. That included recording, enhancing the sound wave file, and finally encoding to an MP3.

    Lyrics
Originally from a poem I wrote called 'Kryptonite' are the words below to go along with this song:

    --- Hot Teardrops ---

    A father's death is kryptonite
    Wicked becomes life
    Each day turns dark
    This pain infests dreams
    The heart bruised
    Life no longer wanted
    Desiring revenge against death
    Yet wanting life to end
    Exploring mysticism
    Looking for answers
    Searching for a morphine
    Not a trace of either
    All tear ducts become worn
The eyes are a western sunset
A verve for deathly mentality arises
Not a god can heal this pain
    Death laughs mockingly
    Helplessness is always close
The thirst for staying alive ceases
Becoming that of a camel in water
