Story Behind the Song
It was based on a book called "The damage done - twelve years of hell in a Bankok prisson".
It's about a young Australian who gets caught trafficing in Bankok, he gets 35 years in the worst prison ever!!!
I read that book while wasting time in Australia and when I was staying a week in Bankok on my way home I just had to go to that prison to see if it was anything like I imagined from the book... and I guess it's a bit better now than it was in '78.. but ......
Anyways I really recomend listening to this song and you should allso read the book.
Lyrics
Pure madness, shadows reign , I recognize pain as my one companion - through the black of day and the dark of night.
My bones ache from the beatings, my head spinns from Heroin.
The emptyness of all this distance , fills the void of my existece.
" -An open door so I walked inside, an invitation to life, the past subsides .... no malcontents"
The enemy the fierceopression dressed in black is beckoning me towards the bottomless abyss of certain painful death.
It can't be real the things I see - I'm comming down .... nothing's real
-I know I'm not insane - not yet - kept alive by fear of death.
A world where nighmares never end
Filth & terror you wouldn't ever comprehend.
Tell me in whom can I confide? why this dispropotional punishment?
I can not stop what's been done ,can't get back what once was, I can not stop the damage done.
Agony ,missery -atrocity... can't feel anything but despreation and emptyness , pain suffer and malcontece.
Hypocrisy, corruption - everything 's crumbling.
The walls are closing in on me and the slipknot's tight around my neck.
A world where nighmares never end
Filth & terror you wouldn't ever comprehend.
Tell me in whom can I confide? why this dispropotional punishment?
I can not stop what's been done ,can't get back what once was, I can not stop the damage done.
