Story Behind the Song
The song is metaphoric for one of my daily routines and also addresses the struggle and conflict that we all have with , well, darkness and light...
Lyrics
02 Excuse me, but I gotta go , and walk the forces of darkness and light, out into the cold
and the starkness, I make my way into the night. In light and in shadow, in darkness and
light. Shouldering the conflict between wrong and right.
Gotta wrestle with these alligators , it just can't wait. Gotta get these entities out of the
house before it's to late. With opposite polarities I will learn my fate. Will this conflict
deliver me to the bodhisattva's gate? I can't keep 'em here or they will soil my house,
stuck between rapture and flames I must douse....I gotta go walk the forces of darkness
and light, it's a balancing act that I gotta dial in tight. This is walk that must be done
everyday, a never ending struggle in every way.
{chorus}Excuse me but I gotta go, and walk the forces of darkness and light {x not sure]
Often these forces are masked in a blur , wrong becomes right and the inverse occurs. All
bets are off, all boundaries collapse , black and white becomes gray in the crush and the
stir. There is a rest spot where I put down this load, I sit down, breath deep and switch to
safety mode, off there leashes, I let these forces go. I suck up the recharge in the
incoming flow. When this process is finished I regroup with my companions and take
them home, there is never a moment when I am truly alone. Tomorrow will indeed be a
new day but in this aspect there will be no difference in any way.
