Story Behind the Song
This song was written about a girl, (I'd sure hope so,) and, like every love song, is almost as cheesy as it is sharp, caustic as it is witty, a spontaneous revelation for the senses. If only she still meant as much to me then as she does to me now...
Lyrics
He looks gazingly in her eyes
She likes to pray but he just lies
Says one thing and tries to back it up
Says another than refills his cup
Innocence is just a virtue to him
Though he'd destroy purpose on a whim
As the wedding day draws near
She quivers more and more in pure fear.
Chorus:
They'll never find their way
Through this crazy world on this crazy day
They'll never find their way
No matter what the skeptics say
They'll never find their way
Always stuck in someone else's yesterday
They'll never find their way...
To a perfect life.
Well he turns to her when it's late at night
"Listen babe, I can make it all right
See, when I look into your smile
I can feel my darkness fading all the while.
I wanna look down that aisle
And see your calm and unnerving smile
I wanna look back in 30 years
Smile shy and let pour the tears
If it all goes wrong ya know I'll take the blame
If I stop this song, just forget my name."
CHORUS
Well he turns to her on the night before
"Listen babe, I know you're feeling unsure
Trust me once I was worse, even more
But when I look into your eyes babe, I know what it's all for."
Marry me
Marry me
Marry me
Honeymoon in Hawaii
