Story Behind the Song
This song has so much history! Not only was it the first song that I ever wrote lyrics for, but it's the first song I wrote music for as well. In addition, it marks the first collaboration for Doodle and myself. We recorded this version in 1991 with Doodle on lead vocals and harmonica and myself on keyboards and back-up vocals. In 1992 I re-recorded the song, and now in 2002, Doodle and I are looking to updating it one more time. Look for a more professional version sometime in 2003!
Lyrics
(1st verse)
So Now it's over, I can't believe it's true,
you feel no love for me, though I still feel love for you.
It may sound crazy, but I'll never forget,
the time I fell in love with you, the first day that we met.
*(Chorus)
No more love, no more love.
I can't believe our love has slipped away,
time after time, day by night after day.
No more love, no more love.
(2nd verse)
Is this goodbye or just so long?
Do you still think what we had was really that wrong?
Start a new beginning, cause this is our end.
Is their any possible way that we could still be friends? *
(Bridge)
Take me back in your arms just one more night.
I don't mean any harm, everything will be alright.
Let me show you my love from deep in my heart.
You are all that I think of, don't let us fall apart.
(3rd verse)
So no more sad tears or happy ones too,
if I had my way, you'd let me come back to you.
Had to may chances, this one's the very last.
Your love is in my heart, the present and the past. *
