when a stranger dies... |

Story Behind the Song
This is the newest single from Semi-Automatic. We recorded this song on the first take, all of us playing together in an old meat-packing plant in Camp Washington, Cincinnati. Drums were set up in the main room, with a few mic tricks to get a huge sound, amps were scattered around the building, vocals, bass and guitars were set up in the control room, we hit record and did it right the first time. A couple of minor overdubs and some mix tweaking at Grandin Studios rounded out the recording.
Portions of this song were written by Dave Z., guitarist in John and Dave's previous band "Dead Letter Room".
Lyrics
Drama Queen - music and lyrics by Semi-Automatic
Look what you're missing in me
I'm falling, falling down
Look what you're missing, it's me
I'm down
Why do you cry
when a stranger dies
stare into the spotlight
The audience is listening,
All eyes are upon you
The walls of your world are crumbling
So why
Do you cry
when a stranger dies
Never shared the spotlight
it's the role
of a lifetime
Why do you cry
when a stranger dies
never shared the spotlight
it's the role...
