    Story Behind the Song
Video Treatment By James Hooker-Copyright James Hooker Productions
(should be positive enough for the DOD to pay for about 310% of the video cost!!!)

First verse and chorus male part opens with Pilot overseas in FA-18 Super Hornet turning and burning--great visuals....then returning to base or carrier (carrier please...I’m a Navy freak!) on the way back from mission he flips up his visor for a minute and closes his eyes..after he’s there, falls exhausted into bunk and closes his eyes and sees....you guessed it!

Second verse and chorus female part opens with the missus holding down the fort in the million and one ways they do that and all the time thinking about him....you know, Chick Flik stuff!!.......during her chorus she closes her eyes and sees him closing his eyes in his bunk

Third verse and end choruses Male and Female opens with fleet returning home...Male in cockpit approaching the field dropping the gear and barn doors. Female standing on the ramp with other loved ones...waiting....at this point, cut to actual footage of families being re-united....run this footage throughout end of song.

    Lyrics
    The Lights Of Home
Lyric and Music by James Hooker
    Desert Shoals Music, ASCAP

    ----------------------------------------
    DUET

    Male:

    It don't help my disposition
    Leavin' you there
It just makes worse the inquisition
    That brings me here
    Far away from my home
    In that southern land
But I won't let it get me down
I'll just lay my head down (this is the desired lyric line as opposed to demo)

    when I close my eyes
    I can see for miles
    When I close my eyes
I can see the lights of home
I can see the lights of home

    Female:
It don't hurt to be stronger
    than all of my fears
when I think about the miles between us
    There might be a tear
Oh but only for a minute
Then I realize we're both in this thing
    Up to our ears
I know you feel the same
And at the end of your day

    you can close your eyes
    you can see for miles
    you can close your eyes
You can see the lights of home

    Male:

Well the gear and flaps are down
And I'm almost on the ground
    And in her arms

    Female:

I stand out on the ramp
And my heart beats a bit quicker
    Like a hummingbird

    Both:
We both knew this night would end
We both knew this day would come
    sooner or later

    Either or both:
We never let it get us down
We kept our feet on the ground

    Both:
And when we closed our eyes
    We could see the lights
    When we closed our eyes
We could see the lights of home

Every time we closed our eyes
We could see for miles and miles
    When we closed our eyes
We could see the lights of home
We could see the lights of home
