Story Behind the Song
This is the very first song I ever wrote! The lyrics were written in the summer of 1985 after my first girlfriend and I had split up, some 6 years later I wrote the music (which was actually intended to be a Christmas Instrumental). I asked my friend Doodle to sing and record it for me, as I had not quite recognized myself as a vocalist yet. So we recorded the original version with Doodle on lead vocals and myself on the keyboard and sang back-ups. A year and a half later, I decided to re-record the song with my own vocals and this is the end result.
NOTE: I used this song when I auditioned for "STAR SEARCH" in 1993. I sang in front of 200 people, the largest crowd I've ever sang to!
Lyrics
(1st verse)
So Now it's over, I can't believe it's true,
you feel no love for me, though I still feel love for you.
It may sound crazy, but I'll never forget,
the time I fell in love with you, the first day that we met.
*(Chorus)
No more love, no more love.
I can't believe our love has slipped away,
time after time, day by night after day.
No more love, no more love.
(2nd verse)
Is this goodbye or just so long?
Do you still think what we had was really that wrong?
Start a new beginning, cause this is our end.
Is their any possible way that we could still be friends? *
(Bridge)
Take me back in your arms just one more night.
I don't mean any harm, everything will be alright.
Let me show you my love from deep in my heart.
You are all that I think of, don't let us fall apart.
(3rd verse)
So no more sad tears or happy ones too,
if I had my way, you'd let me come back to you.
Had to may chances, this one's the very last.
Your love is in my heart, the present and the past. *
