Story Behind the Song
Written while jamming to write McNally's Chinese grad song. English version written first. Recorded by two mini-disc players with three layers in total. This was the first take.
At the Chinese grad, we thought that there was going to be a keyboard at Marco Polo restaurant, but there wasn't, so Will and I practised by the elevators with his guitar.
Eric wrote the lyrics, which were quite good. Linh Tiet was supposed to sing with us, but we all decided, including her, that it is best performed as a solo.
If anyone has the performance on videotape, PLEASE tell me!!! I wanna hear it!
Lyrics
Even If... (Chinese Grad Song)
Chinese Lyrics: Eric Mak
Translated by: Lincoln Ho
The school year is quickly closing in
Colleagues begin to plan for the future
What the world will be like, no one knows
Good fortune to you all
Time can only tell what it represents
It won't forget precious memories
Through good times and bad times
We will understand how to spend each moment
No matter where you may go, there's no worries
But please do take care
The world will spin and eventually change
To start new journeys in life
High school will be a reminiscence
Please don't weep, man must keep moving
Share these times together because
We have finally graduated - Class 2001
May all your wishes come true
