	An instrumental house piece with lots of soul. The drum part has a few abstract elements along with the four on the floor beat (of course). A funky bass line moves the song forward with filtered clav and ep parts trading off melody and counter-melody. This song is meant for mixing into a house set. Personally I would use it after a climax in the set to keep the energy going, but tone down the excitment for a little bit so as to build up even bigger.
	Story Behind the Song I wrote this song over the course of about a month and a half. Most of the song was finished after about a week of on and off work, but then I got sick of it and abandoned it for almost a month. When I came back to it I was able to take the elements and really forge them into the soul of the song. The Way is about the way I make music and in some ways feel about it. I stole this concept a little from Taoism which means the way. The easiest way to explain the concept behind The Way is that there is a form to every song that I write. It is up to me to shape the ingriedients that I have to match the form that is there. Its kind of like a sculptor just bringing out whats in the rock, but it is through his mind and view of the world that this happens. When I take the ingriedients of a song, a few loops or improvisations, and find from them the heart and sould of something it is a wonderful feeling. Sometimes when writing a song I don't even know what the song is about or what its form is until it is almost complete. Subconsiously I form my ideals in the form of music without thinking about it. I have been doing this almost unconsious process for several years spinning records. This is where I take two records and find their place, the ideal in my mind that they should be mixed together in, without even thinking that deep into it. Maybe this is something that is hard to understand if you haven't experienced it before, but this song is meant to show the amazing creative music making process to those who might not know what it entails.
