Story Behind the Song
John H - An expressive look at the nature of our emotions, focusing from the very small to the infinite. Alludes to feelings of despair in conjunction with its opposite, e.g. feelings of awe, inspiration or complete absolute belonging. Also has underlying themes of love, and/or desire, and the desire to understand ourselves; draw from the imagery what you will and what you like.
Lyrics
I wish I could paint the path that a tear travels.
From the moment it drops from the heart to the visual.
Liquid caskets burn / on the cheek that's forced to turn
The cheek I'll always kiss / on the face I'm forced to miss
water mapping stars,
would I tear it out? would I tear it out?
Pulses mapping hearts,
Would I tear it out? Could I tear it?
In the middle of an ocean's heart is where I lay
Buried in the iris teardrop sunlight blurs the way
You can come look for me I'll be crying in your dreams
In the middle of an ocean's heart is where I lay
So far away / To things that belong
Would you ever find me / Would you ever?
I pray that you hear this / I pray that you are here
in a river of change / our seeds are swept to grow
on shores we'll never know / shores called forever
one day we'll stumble by another universe
and we will realize we've been here before
water mapping stars
would I tear it out? would I tear it out?
Pulses mapping hearts
Would I tear it out? Could I tear it?
In the middle of an ocean's heart is where I lay
(So far away...)
Buried in the iris teardrop sunlight blurs the way
(to things that belong..)
You can come look for me, promise you'll be in my dreams
(Would you ever find me? Would you ever?)
In the middle of an ocean's heart is where I lay
.I pray that you hear this.
.I pray that you hear this.
.I pray that you hear this.
.I pray that you are here.
..I wish..
