    Story Behind the Song
"originally i'd planned that this song would have lyrics. i'd written a set about child molestation, but they'd gotten lost somehow, years ago. Musically, 'child' was an experiment to get rid of a standard verse, chorus, verse song structure and to create one complete forward moving piece. the guitars are written in a way so that they are constantly changing parts at a faster and faster rate. Also, both guitars are using loop pedals and are looping sections of guitar under what they are playing."
    -daniel.

"When writing this song, as with any of our songs, i wanted the sounds and samples to have meaning to the song. It is more meaningful if they are drawn from a source that has to do with the emotions we get from the music, as well as personal sources that have to do with the meaning behind the song."

"small, completely helpless, and in the confines and control of the home leaves you vulnerable to the sick and alienated treatment of anyone old enough and big enough to do what they want to you. abuse creates this spilt in reality between this cute, polite, smiling world and the secret actual world that we are supposed to ignore, deny, and lie about. layers of secrets and lies become chains and it takes years to break free of them. i think this song captures that world pretty well.
the guitar loops we create at the end are my favorite part of this song. one hundred flawed reflections, rising from broken glass."
