    Story Behind the Song
    I don't know if there's a story behind this song - if there is, Lee would have to tell it - but the more you listen to it, the more the question nags at you ... what ARE those four words? Answers on an e-mail please ...

    This was recorded at Stable Sound studios in 1999 along with Fanfare, one of five songs we recorded and mixed over the space of about four ten-hour sessions. Looking back I have no idea how we managed it.

    THOSE FOUR WORDS

    Words & music : L. Brown

    It used to drive me crazy,
    The things you said;
    What you meant.
    Were you hiding your feelings
    Or were they on show?
    The hardest part of it all now
    Is that I will never know.

    Was I wasting my time, then or now?
    Was I wasting my time, then or now?
    Waiting for those four words...
    Was I wasting my time, then or now?
    Waiting for those four words...

    You always asked me about
    The things I said;
    What I meant.
    I opened up too soon now;
    It was my biggest regret.
    The hardest part of it all now
    Is that I will never forget.

    Is it worth waiting, now and forever?
    Is it worth waiting, now and forever?
    Waiting for those four words.
    Is it worth waiting, now and forever?
    Waiting for those four words.
