A fun, bouncy song inspired by Colin's love for Weezer and a happy time period in his life.
CD: Honesty Revolution - Yet to be released.   Label: Independent
Credits: Written by Colin Ducette and Chris Fleming. (c) 2002 ALL-SCARS. All Rights Reserved.

    Story Behind the Song
For a friend of Colin's who helped him through a tough time in his life.

Colin wrote the verse in his Den when Chris came over and helped write
the second half of the melody. Many options were jammed out for a
chorus, and the one that stuck was created after about an hour. We
weren't sure if the chorus was the right one until Tracey sealed the deal
with her uncanny novice champion ability on drums (This recording was
only her third time playing drums ever in her life!!).

We recorded this entire song in Colin's basement and arranged the wav
files with Cakewalk, where we could layer the separate parts. We
recorded the rhythm guitar and drums on our first take. Vocals were
added after. Tracey was finished her vocals after one day of recording,
because she had to wait for Colin to put the lead vocals on. Colin added
his lead guitar, and various other tweaks and things during the week that
followed. Chris added his bass and backing vocals las

    Lyrics
    Today Mates

It was a long time ago
that I wrote a song for you
    The melody was right
    the lyrics were true

    I sought out to find
all the ways that I could breath
Would we get to hold hands?
    Is that what I need?

    Oh oh oh oh
    Rhyme about
    Oh oh oh oh
    Finding out

    But that was back then
just look where I am now
    The smile exits my face
    but once in awhile

    I've been hangin' with buds
    And we're just chillin' out
    We're playing our guitars
    And makin' some sound

    Oh oh oh oh
    Today mates
    Oh oh oh oh
    No missed fates

    I'm happy, girl
    I just want to
    Share that with you
    Share that with you

    I'm happy, girl
    I just want to
    Share that with you
    And thank you

    Oh oh oh
    oh oh oh oh
    Oh oh oh
    oh oh oh oh

    Oh oh oh
    oh oh oh oh
    Oh oh oh
    oh oh oh oh

    Oh oh oh oh
    Today mates
    Oh oh oh oh
    No missed fates

It was a long time a
