Lyrics
Swimming deep in the Rio Grande,
Childhood days, hot canyon sand,
Cool waters under clear blue sky.
Hawk in the sky circles high and free
Lifted on the wind proud mutiny,
With the hawk I'm sailing away.
Sailing away- Sailing away.
On the feathers of the Hawk,
sailing, sailing.
Ocean water left sand and plain,
Winter wind shaped ancient terrain,
Some say God left the Rio Grande.
Hills sing softly, mountains roar,
Plains whisper over lost seashores,
Imagine the mysteries they've known.
Sailing away- Sailing away.
On the feathers of the Hawk,
sailing, sailing.
Tracks in the sand, husband and wife,
White hair, a smile, time passing in a life,
Sharing secrets like the plains and the canyon walls.
Plunge in cool water feel the canyon shift,
Deep blue sky, canyon cliffs,
Suddenly I'm sailing away.
Sailing away- Sailing away.
On the feathers of the Hawk,
Sailing away- away- away-
