Awesome vocal harmonies, swingin' Hip Hop
influenced beat and straight forward lyrics.
Overall just a great song.

Story Behind the Song
Jaclyn told me she wanted to record a song featuring her friend Dayna on vocals. She wanted it to be just her, her acoustic guitar, and Dayna on harmonies. Of course I thought, "right on, piece of cake." But when I heard the song, I fell in love with it as goosebumps rippled up and down my arms. So I decided to produce the song to the best of my ablility. A couple of hours later, I had sequenced a full-band behind the two divas.
It probably took about 3 sessions total to record this song... (or so)... I can't remember exactly, we've worked so hard now it's all starting to blur together. But I think it was one session for guitar and vocals... One for the rest of the music... and one to mix... That's not including Mastering. Maybe 30 studio hours total. Which is ironic because I think she wrote the song in like 15 minutes!!! Ha! Take a listen, I think you'll dig this track.
Lyrics
It's been such a long time
since I've felt this way
Though I'm tired
I'm still fighting everyday
Is it such a bad thing
to just want to be loved?
Have someone hold you through the night,
till the sun comes up?
I feel...
that I just need a change
Free...
Myself from the bindings
of these chains
So many stories
told through the eyes
of ancient souls
Now it's morning
and I've got to go
I feel...
that I just need a change
Free...
myself from the bindings
of these chains
I don't know why
I've been stuck in this daze
and I don't know why
I've been stuck in the same place
so I've got to make a change
