I was sitting quietly one day, drinking a coffee, when I found myelf starting to wonder about all the people that have come and gone in my life over the years - not just lovers (not that I've had many of those), but everyone that has meant something special to me. So, on a subliminal level, the lyrics relate to the fact that we all become 'emotionally naked' to those we love and trust, not matter what type of relationship we have with them.
