	Story Behind the Song I wanted to write a song about the grim determination we feel to save someone we love who is hellbent on destroying themselves. But, for all our determination, it's a hopeless endeavor because, ultimately, that person has to want to be rescued or redeemed. I liked the idea of musically showing that contrast of unfaltering love against despair. Lyrics FALL AWAKE - (joey b) "It feels so cold" I hear you say I see your eyes are turning grey and your tears they blind the way so I can't find you... I feel you stand I feel you sway I feel you push your strength away surrendering to hopelessness' embrace but I can't let you.. if you.. fall awake I'll try to save you nothing can take you down to run away I'll try to race you I'll try to chase you down fall awake I'll try to shake you nothing can bring you around to fall awake nothing can phase you nothing can break you down and your dreams they feel displaced and your kiss leaves a bitter taste and my hands they touch your face... but I can't feel you if I could wake up standing in your place if I could kiss the teardrops from your face and if I could dress your wounds in lace... you know I'd try to if you find you're reaching for a line wishing for an ending to this crime and if your heart can't beat in time reach... reach... and take mine.
