	The scientific findings about the Image of Guadalupe was the inspiration for this song. Written in commemoration of the canonization of the Aztec Indian, Juan Diego on July 31, 2002 in Mexico City. It is said that a miraculous image was given to Juan in 1531 and to this day it hangs in the Guadalupe shrine in Mexico City. The pride of the Mexican people, the Image of Guadalupe has defied every scientific effort to discredit its origin.

	Story Behind the Song Millions visit the Guadalupe shrine in Mexico City each year to venerate the image. Recently, NASA photographic research revealed that in the eyes, not only are colors and pupils clearly evident, but reflections as well. These reflections appear in a manner and at an angle which matches precisely that of what a human eye would reflect. Further research reveals even the presence of blood vessels and capillaries within the eye. No artist could have ever painted this; not in this detail, not on this material, and not with colors that no one has been able to duplicate. Don began the recording playing some rhythm guitars and his bass with a drum machine in his basement studio, and then went to Joey Demaios Wild Sound Studio on the Jersey shore with Reggie Brooks, who on an electronic keyboard, played and overdubbed piano, marimba, 4 horns, cellos, violas, violins and tympani with Don’s arrangement. Don then made a deal with Quentin Marty, director of the St. Anthonys Catholic Church Choir in Hightstown, New Jersey, to bring the 25 voice choir into Joeys studio and sing background on the record. In return, Don would record and produce the choir singing 25 songs for an album. One of the choir members of Mexican descent, brought his trumpet and gave the song the truly live Mexican flavor and sound against the electronic instruments. Don then sang the lead vocal and mixed the song the way you hear it here in his usual hit fashion with loads of energy, and had his friend and top mastering man in New York, Vlado Meller master it to CD. Lyrics La Señora de Guadalupe VERSE There's a story that's told. It comes from old Mexico, Of a beautiful lady and Juan Diego. He was walking along on a trail far from home, When the lady appeared on a hill all alone. VERSE Out of nowhere she came and she called out his name, As she stood in a Heavenly light all enflamed. And she spoke a sweet way on that cold December day. And this is what Juan heard her say: CHORUS I'm the Lady of Guadalupe in old Mexico. I bring pretty roses to Juan Diego. And she gave him her portrait of her beautiful face. And they built a lovely shrine there to remember the place. VERSE Over four hundred years have gone by since that time. And her beautiful portrait still hangs in the shrine.
