Story Behind the Song
This was at first just a basic heavy song. But it was during this time that Blue Cheese began playing with a few extra gadgets. One being a Alesis "Dr. Rythem" drum machine. Charlie and Craig put a lot of time into programing an elabrate "electronic" part to this song. They wanted to do something that they could easily reproduce live, and the Dr. Rythem gave them just that kind of ease. This song is a "stereo" song, made with the car stereo sub-woffer in mind. The most notable use of the Dr.R. is during the breakdown before the outro, and then through the end of the outro itself.
Lyrics
Don't look to me to help you find your way
You express yourself now it's time to pay.
There's something wrong with me, I guess it's not my day,
control my anger, "like hell" I say.
Invade my song, you invade my space
it wont be long til I have my face to your face.
Tell me I'm too fast for you to set the pace,
If you want to live, let me out of this race.
Gave you all I had to show you I cared,
look at my eyes see the scars I wear.
Cried all my life but you were never there,
well I'm gonna scream my pain, I'll make sure you hear.
Drownd by sin when you taught me to swim
and you wonder how I got in the world I'm in.
Well the answer to my pain is there's no end
Everything's ok, just let me in.
Grab your ears in both of my hands,
kiss my knee boy you'll understand.
Tell me one day that I'll see the plan,
well I'm having trouble now man, here on land.
