A 16 year old MIDI percussion track joins forces with sweeps of new sounds, samples and effects. SEE INFO. |

Story Behind the Song
The percussion track originates from an ancient MIDI file created in 1986, which had been left for further work and subsequently forgotten, until it turned up on a floppy disc while I was looking through old material for the Aaron Sector HQ remix project. I seem to recall an Atari STE was used, linked to various drum-sound modules. Incorporating this into Cubase proved problematical; my musical colleague Ben Ghallis came to the rescue by re-writing the file in Windows Wordpad to make it accessible. This track was going to form the backbone for a major ASHQ rework, but I managed to rescue it before too many changes were made. Thanks again to Ben Ghallis for coming up with some sounds from his extensive license-free sample collection. These were modified in Wavelab 4 using the effects plug-ins that came with it. The finished piece continues the sequence of works begun with Aquillon and Eschellon.
