Story Behind the Song
This was intended to be the title screen music for the Intellivision videogame, "Magic Carouosel," designed by Steve Ettinger and Joe [Ferreira] King. Steve, a huge ragtime fan, laboriously arranged Scott Joplin's classic for the Intellivision (which can only play three notes at once) and programmed the code into the game. Unfortunately, there wasn't room for the complete arrangement, so only about a fourth of it wound up in the final game. To add insult to injury, the Marketing department decided not to release the game. It sat on the shelf from 1982 until 2001, when Intellivision Productions finally published it in the CD-ROM collection "Intellivision Rocks." Now, Intellivision Productions is releasing Steve's original arrangement of the song here and on the album "Intellivision in Hi-Fi." P
