    A hard-edged, eerie, grungey tune
    CD: the BURMS
Credits: Music: Todd Gibson and Kurt Spann; Lyrics: the BURMS

    Story Behind the Song
As usual, Todd came up with a simple little ditty on the guitar which was catchy enough for Kurt and Brad to get hooked. From then on the rest of the song took shape. The eerie feel of the tune brought to mind struggles and thoughts of friends who had gone through struggles but clung to God who saw them through to overcome them. The addition of Eric Engerbretson for the solo electric guitar work really brought the song to the next level.

    Lyrics
    Does she see the darkness
At the ateway to the storm
    The smothered past
    Caught in her feature-warm

It's a situation circle slippin' into red
Life-ring cast miles and miles above her head
    Drowning spirit of confusion
    Is she dead?

She feels the rain on her face

Can you fly away from me?
    Or reach the eye
    Escape my raging waters

Her body is a temple that's eroding with the wind
The pure and decent sea became the struggle that's within
She soars to the top with a surge from Spirit flow
The anchor lost its grip as it lingers down below
