"Continue" is a flat-out, and true, love song about the opening moments of a relationship, when you're fascinated with each other and hopeful that this new person could really be the one. I wanted to write a positive love song, which is actually much harder to do than writing angry, morose or sad breakup songs. |

Lyrics
If this turns out good, we may continue
I think we might have a chance
Coffee after work, and conversation
feeling out our oats and implications
If it could continue
if it could continue
well I would be overjoyed
If it could continue
somehow that I win you
I'd, at last, be free
She comes to this with some reservations
there's so many creeps out there
try to win her trust and admiration
no one said this game was fair
If it could continue
if it should continue
well I just might burst out laughin'
If it could continue
somehow then I win you
I, at last, could see...
Though it never lasts, these early rushes
deeper things take root for future blossoms
I might just jump too far ahead
and if I do you can hold me down
but you can't stop this heart
it's racing racing racing in here
Can I just continue
I want to continue
You enrapture me girl
Let it all continue
I want to be with you
All this talk ain't cheap
