Story Behind the Song
The music was written in San Diego in early 1999 by a then-homsick and
lonely Hawaii transplant,
Anthony Bane, who was attending law school. Lyrics didn't come until
(May or June)many months later after Bane's return to Hawaii - teaming
up with
guitarist/amateur producer Eddex. The song's lyric's were inspired by a
series of romantic episodes between Bane and a love interest, who later
suggested that the romance might have to end. This depressing news
brought Bane to a passimistic state in which his attitude was "some
things
are too good to be true". The song was recorded rather unconventioanlly
on a home PC by Eddex, who yielded rather impressive results considering
that
the whole recording process didn't cost a dime!!! Vocal duties (lead and
backing) were taken by Anthony Bane, while guitars (lead and rhythm)
were played by Eddex. bass guitar and drum programming were done by Sean
Ikuta.
