Story Behind the Song
This song was written for my wife as a Christmas gift. She loved it so much(naturally), that she made sure everyone heard it. The feedback has been tremendous, so I decided to self publish the song and start promoting it. I wrote the song in about two days. The melody came to me while I was working in the yard on a warm afternoon. I've never experienced an emotional high quite like that. It was pure magic! I love life and my family. This songs reflects that sentiment perfectly.
Lyrics
Well I woke up this mornin, sun was shinin on me,
I jumped out of bed, I couldn't wait to go see,
The man in the mirror grinnin back at me,
Yeah it's a wonderful life... cause,
(Chorus)
I'm livin in paradise
Where the sun's always shinin and there's pie in the sky,
Sippin margaritas by the pool side,
Another beautiful day of...
Just livin in paradise,
With my two little Munchkins and a beautiful wife,
Would I do it again, well I wouldn't think twice,
Cause I'm livin in paradise, yeah, I'm livin in paradise.
So I called my mom I said, "what do you know?"
she said, son last night we got two feet of snow,
when you commin home, the family misses you so, I said, don't look for me...cause
chorus
When our friends from the north take their holiday here,
They soak up the sun and they drink lots of beer,
But when they have to go home I tell them all loud and clear,
Come back and see us next year... cause,
chorus
Now it's been thirty years and I just gotta say,
I'm livin life to the fullest each and every day,
I walk a little bit slower and my hair's turnin gray,
Still it's a wonderful life... cause,
I'm livin in paradise,
where the sun's always shinin and there's pie in the sky,
Still sippin margaritas by the pool side,
Another beautiful day, of...
Just livin in paradise,
with my five little grand-kids and a beautiful bride,
Would I do it all over, well I wouldn't think twice,
Cause I'm livin in paradise, yeah, I'm livin in paradise,
With my five little grand-kids and a beautiful bride,
I'm livin in paradise, yeah, I'm livin in paradise.
