Definite Download to sample the Illdren style. Official Bboy Steelo.
This is Cutta and Mercury doing things in true Bboy fashion. Merc on the beatbox, some random cat on the guitar and Cutta on the freestyle, and I was there to get the whole damn thing on tape: this is what hip-hop is all about. |
CD: Unreleased

Story Behind the Song
This night was just plain wild. Cutta, Merc, Sphinx, Sphinx's girl, Cutta's girl, and I were just sitting around kicking it bored as hell, and someone suggests that we go to rock this open mic at Xavier.
We're all for rocking open mic's so Merc grabbed the laptop, I grabbed the Camcorder, Cutta grabbed his ladyfriend (as usual) and we all hopped on the bus to Xavier.
It was some open mic poetry night...not like slam poetry but like that ole laid back smoke-filled room poetry. People were sipping cocktails, wearing slacks, and spitting the righteous pro-black teachings. Merc and Cutta saw a golden opportunity to hype the crowd and interject an impromptu hip hop performance.
Merc and Cutta went all out on this one by letting the crowd know that hip-hop is next level poetry, and the crowd rewarded them nicely with a round of applause.
