Story Behind the Song
This is a tribute to my upbringing in the Hawai'ian Islands and the woman who was responsible. Dedicated to my mom, affectionately know as Aunty Pan to the many people she touched during her life. This track includes a hidden song at the end which is an old hapa-haole song (mixed caucasion and Hawaiian style) featuring my mom's sisters and Frank on ukulele.
Lyrics
Rest your head upon your pillow,
lay your burdens by your side,
don't think twice about tomorrow,
sleep deep through the night.
Close your eyes and sleep so gently,
let your thoughts softly fall.
And the sun is fading slowly,
and the day is all pau.
Rest your head cause.. it's all pau
Close your eyes now... it's all pau
Go to sleep darling... it's all pau
E hele moe moe.... it's, it's all pau
(Come, let's go to sleep, it [the day] is finished)
Through the night your dreams will take you,
past the day's longing call.
Don't you let the morning wake you,
till the night is all pau.
Rest your head cause.. it's all pau
Close your eyes now... it's all pau
Go to sleep darling... it's all pau
E hele moe moe.... it's, it's all pau
